I sometimes wonder how it is certain people get by in life.
The other week I watched a video from the NYtimes.com about how Florida schools were NOW requiring students, 8th graders, to learn about evolution. It is now the year 2008 and there are still children not being taught science in the classroom. The children said such memorable things such as "when I go to church I am told god put us here, and I believe that. Then when I go to school they tell me something else, and I have hard time believing it". "They have theories about how it could have happened [evolution] but I'm just not sure about it". "It kinda went over my head, the whole thing."
Yes that's right folks. American kids ARE that stupid and ignorant. They literally have not been taught the things the rest, or most of, the nation is learning. Is there not a national curriculum of sorts? What about the teachers, don't they feel they have some obligation to be teaching them the things they should be learning. The 'South' or not you can't ignore certain well know, well, theories about life. and NO god does not count. That is religious, in my opinion, bullshit. Not to be talked about in schools. If the parents of the children do not want them to learn about out scientific theories of evolution, they can send them to private god school. No one will care how much they fail in life there after, I know I don't. If their beliefs cause them distress later on, good!
I know this may seem mean, but I am sick of getting the opposite from people about the non-believers. Many and most of them have great lives, with great jobs. Not having jesus in their lives isnt going to change a thing.
OH and Sarah Palin. Congrats Ms. Palin, abstinence DOESN'T WORK! Thank you for helping proove that.
I hope no one is under the illusion that Bristol and her husband are getting married out of love...cause thats a joke....political stunt, not them getting knocked up, them getting married.
and honestly...an old-guy and someone who hasnt even reached the senate before, a mayor and govenor...
I know the other side is Obama is only a jr congressmen, but its more than the other side has got.
sorry about that rant. just feel the need to do it sometimes.
on more interesting news, we got to meet Ian's (my sister's b/f) parent's who are most interesting. To be more accurate we met his mother and step-dad. The mothers name is Honey...or is it spelled Honi, or Hunnie..you get the picture. Thr step-dad is Ken and they are nice people...I could deal with them being in-laws, the insinuation there is that my sister and Ian may get married at somepoint in the near-ish future. But who knows.
well, thats all i got for now....

I hate to break it to you, but you're wrong. For once the great and Honorable Eric Rutkin is wrong. According to Jenn's father, evolution has now been proven scientifically wrong and the only reason it is still around as an accepted theory is all the money behind it. That and global warming is no longer an issue,we've been in a cooldown phase since 2002/3.......yep suck on that.
